Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) are Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) which have significant adverse effects on human health and the environment. The 2015 discovery of PFAS contamination throughout Colorado, including the El Paso County well water supply, has resulted in the recent approval of a new policy focused on the monitoring of wastewater discharge in an effort to reduce the use of PFAS across the state.
SGS has experience testing for PFAS since 2004. As a result of our expertise, we were honored to partner with the US EPA to develop and validate official PFAS isotope dilution methods.
