SGS Experts Offer Expertise on Emerging Contaminants at the Upcoming Virtual AEHS Conference on Soils, Sediments, Water and Energy

 

Two experts from SGS will share their knowledge on issues related to emerging contaminants with the virtual AEHS Conference on Soils, Sediments, Water and Energy audience, October 19-23. Dr. Bharat Chandramouli, Ph.D., SGS Environmental Laboratory Product Manager, North America, and Geoffrey Pellechia, SGS National Sales Manager, PFAS and Ultratrace, will be presenters at AEHS.

 

A live presentation will be delivered by Dr. Chandramouli on Friday, October 23, Session 18, 2:30 pm – 3:00 pm. His presentation, titled, “Replacing PCB Aroclors with GC-MS Congener Methods: Experiences from an EPA Single Laboratory Validation”, and shows details on the method and his team’s experiences in validation and implementation.

Two posters on PFAS issues will also be presented:

• Dr. Chandramouli, a global expert in emerging contaminants, poster, titled, “15 Years of PFAS Occurrence Data in Water, Soil and Tissue” reports on his team’s study developed to validate isotope methods for up to 33 PFAS in aqueous, solid, tissue and serum matrices to understand their occurrence and fate across the ecosystem.
• Mr. Pellechia’s poster, titled “Do’s and Don’ts for PFAS Sampling and More” covers special handling and care that must be taken when collecting samples to avoid sample contamination

The posters will be visible for the duration of the conference with dedicated chat sessions on October 20 and 21, from 3 pm – 6 pm to interact with the authors. Registration for the conference is required and includes a fee.
